Patrick
A. Johnston, P.E.
Principal
Mr.
Johnston graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Architectural
Engineering in 1979. In addition to being President
of JBA, he is involved
with many other notable groups: Phi Alpha Epsilon Architectural Engineering
Honorary; advisory board member for Kansas State University Architectural
Engineering; Vice President and board
member for Della Lamb Community Services; and honorary Mic-o-say
Tribesman with
The Boy Scouts of America, to name a few. He has many years of structural
engineering experience with all types of publicly and privately funded
projects throughout the United States as well as several foreign
countries. Mr. Johnston has also spent a considerable amount of time
designing additions
and modifications to existing structures. His areas of expertise
include retail, warehouses, industrial, schools and office buildings,
and metal building construction.
He also has extensive knowledge and experience in all types of retail
and commercial franchises, detention and municipal facilities, and
theatres.

Scott
G. Burkholder, P.E.
Principal
Mr. Burkholder graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S.
degree in Civil Engineering in 1979 and a M.S. degree in Civil Engineering
in
1986. He has a wide variety of structural engineering experience designing
retail stores, warehouse/distribution centers, manufacturing facilities,
industrial buildings, aircraft storage and maintenance facilities, field-houses,
multi-purpose centers, office buildings, shopping centers, schools, libraries,
hospitals, banks and multi-family housing. His projects have included
both new facilities and the renovation of existing structures. He
also has extensive
experience designing metal buildings, foundations for metal buildings,
and coordinating the designs of several manufacturers with conventional
construction. His project experience includes initial design development
through construction observation.

Bart J. Halverson, P.E.
Principal
Mr. Halverson graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S.
degree in Civil Engineering in 1984. An Iowa native, he has called Kansas
City home since 1989. He has a vast range of structural engineering
experience designing buildings, bridges and specialty structures
utilizing an extensive knowledge of steel, reinforced concrete,
pre-cast, masonry
and wood. He has been in charge of the design for many
new structures as well as for the review and renovation of existing
structures. He has developed several franchise prototypes and has
extensive experience in grocery stores, industrial buildings,
and detention facilities.
His experience ranges from preliminary design through monitoring
construction, and he currently holds professional registrations
in 12 states.

Joseph
N. Flanagan, P.E.
Principal
Mr. Flanagan graduated from Iowa State University in 1988 with a B.S.
degree in Civil Engineering. He has been a lead designer involved
in the development of power plants, large government office buildings,
weapons facilities, and water treatment plants. His heavy industrial
and government project background adds yet another dimension to our
overall experience. Currently, Mr. Flanagan leads JBA’s Wal-Mart
team which facilitates the development and maintenance of Supercenter
and Neighborhood Market prototypes. His team is also instrumental
to the development of new Wal-Mart stores across the United States.
