JBA
has designed many new churches, as well as additions for and
extensive renovations to existing churches. Projects vary from
small classroom
type additions to majestic churches with sanctuary seating
for thousands.
New church sanctuaries often resemble performance halls with
large open spaces, extensive balconies, wide stage areas, and
complicated ceiling and roof framing systems that incorporate
catwalks to access professional lighting and audio/visual equipment.
Contemporary
churches not only provide a place of worship, but incorporate fellowship,
education and recreation.
Because of this, architectural and mechanical requirements
for
these projects present a unique challenge for the structural
consultant. We have utilized a variety of materials including
steel, wood,
concrete, and masonry to provide aesthetically pleasing yet
budget conscious designs, and we have the experience and expertise
to
satisfy the many special requirements of religious facilities.
